With three sea days, cruisers have plenty of time to enjoy the ship. The best part is that this floating thrill ride cruises this itinerary year-round. Panorama has so many great activities night and day, which is why I keep coming back to this cruise ship.

Instead, I walk to the cultural centers, enjoy the beach for free, and simply take in the sights. I also like that the ports of Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas, and Mazatlán don't require pricey excursion tickets since there's so much to do within walking distance. While it's possible to spend $30 and up to go snorkeling or take a tour, I haven't found the need for this. One of the best things about Panorama is how packed the itinerary is for those looking for activities day and night — but knowing it's not necessary to do all the things.

There may be few more luxurious ways to arrive in Cabo San Lucas than on board Regent’s new Seven Seas Grandeur. The 10-night journey includes three luxurious days of cruising the Pacific Ocean. Spend your sea days lounging around your spacious suite, playing bocce ball or shuffleboard or relaxing by the pool bar. The ship's suites range in size from 307 to 4,443 square feet. We were also able to see the Thermal Suite and fitness center before they were crowded with other cruisers. These decks are home to the entertainment venues including the Limelight Lounge, which doubles as the Punchliner Comedy Club. There is also live music, trivia, and other Fun Squad events that occur in the Ocean Plaza as well as the ship’s Atrium.

It can be tough to secure a deck chair beside the pool on sea days, but I've never seen a line form to enter the pool or thought it felt overcrowded once inside.
You'll also find options for cruises to Mexico from San Francisco, New Orleans and even Mobile, Alabama. Activities include kayaking, Zodiac boat rides, snorkeling, hiking and, of course, downtime at the beach. You can expect cabins that are quite cozy, but ample public space on deck to watch for sealife and meet your fellow passengers. If your crew isn't into highspeed zipping, try a backcountry bison expedition or a relaxing day at the beach. Catalina is a charming island with a European feel, memorable food and a fascinating history.
And don't forget about the beaches and underwater scenery of Cabo San Lucas. Cruise to the Mexican Riviera and you don’t have to choose just one vacation experience — you can try them all. It started off strong with solid appetizers including the smoked oysters and shrimp cocktail. I did the surf and turf for my entree and thought the steak was pretty average.
