It was more than just the design of the bracelet that inspired Katia; it was her desire to recreate the same feeling for others.

Add a 3D design to it with a fun color palette like gradients, and you become a business selling astronomy-themed items or a sports brand with a fun or mystical vibe. This portion will help you arrange your shapes to create a compound design that relates to your viewers on a deeper level. Either way, you have shapes surrounding your daily life, and as a business, you can utilize their power to create excellent first impressions for newcomers to your brand. I love having the opportunity to learn about what my clients are passionate about, and to help them visualize what they’d like to portray to their audiences.

Because these shapes are not enclosed, unlike the rest, they can also be linked to spontaneity, boldness, and non-conformity. These elements can be tricky to blend into a design, but they are powerful attention grabbers. If you are entirely new to shape language, you should start by paying attention to how other designers use shapes. Look for inspiration on sites like Dribbble, ArtStation, and Behance and deconstruct the compositions you like into basic shapes.

Simple & compound

Not only are my clients diverse, but their projects are, as well. As an independent designer I can take on projects of all kinds, which allows me to tap into all of the experience I’ve accrued through the years. I design brochures, menus, business cards, books, annual reports, Powerpoint and Keynote presentations, responsive websites, applications—anything my clients need. My professional partners (listed below) help me take on projects of any size.

Want design tips & business trends (and the occasional promotion) in your inbox?

Geometric shapes like perfect circles, squares, and triangles convey a planned, mathematical, logical sensibility. Graphic designers often blend geometric and organic shapes to create visually engaging compositions. The juxtaposition of these contrasting shapes can convey complex messages and emotions. Some logos feel confident and professional while others feel playful and friendly, and the reason is the way they’re designed. The art of graphic design is about communicating visually; instead of using words, you use colors, layout, and — as we discuss here — shapes to speak through only images.

Find and hire a designer to make your vision come to life, or host a design contest and get ideas from designers around the world. In this logo design combines simple techology shapes to create a modern logo with a minimalistic style. A bold, fun and colorful trifold brochure for a non-profit dealing with inclusion of migrants in the community. It features a deconstructed logo whose irregular polygon shapes and colors are used as main elements and background.

These are the shapes that you can create using a ruler and compass. They are mostly accurate and in order and can bring a sense of stability and strength within you. Squares, rectangles, triangles, ovals, and circles are some of the common geometric shapes. The fundamentals of graphic design are lines, shapes, and colors. Graphic designers are experts in evoking an idea with visuals using color theory, HEX color codes, RGB color codes, fonts, typography, and layouts. Graphic design is everywhere, from the menus we peruse at restaurants to the newspapers we read and the street signs we follow.

In this case, we do not see what kind of plants the image belongs to. This makes it possible to talk about the universality of the logo. Express yourself with a custom shape design created just for you by a professional designer.

Sometimes, we may think that squares or rectangles are bland shapes that don’t get noticed, but with the right strategy, they can be as effective as any other shape. This usually applies to the familiar shapes which have associations with objects encountered in nature. As discussed earlier, different shapes evoke different emotions in a viewer. In this section, we will look at all the most used shapes in graphic design and see which shape evokes what kind of emotion.

With shapes, you strengthen your hooks to retain and grab the attention of your target market. That instance proved that shapes are around us and have become the foundation of any design. You may even have a tumbler, mug, or cup beside you for your hot or cold beverage. Did you know you could use the latter to encourage your market to see you positively?

Just like simple shapes, they can be composition-friendly and non-bulky depending on how much texturing and color variation they have. Complex shapes are more eye-catching and bold, which is why they often act as the central element of the composition. Rectangles are safe and circles are too, triangles are bold and so are you. Dive in to see how you can benefit from using abstract shapes and why spirals are mysterious.

Without the shared cultural understanding, it would mean nothing to them. For all these reasons, it is best to research shapes like these individually whenever you plan to use one in design. Basically, everything in this world can be simplified and brought to a simple shape. If you manage to master the basics of shapes, you’ll get the cubist out of you. Before you begin working on your logo project, it’s essential to understand the message and characteristics the logo will convey. Having sharp edges, the triangle logo shape is mostly used in construction, motor, scientific, or tech industries.

9 Creative Fence Gate Ideas

Using the same color and trim details on the gate as on your home will make it look like an integral part of your home. For workmen and companies that do gate repairs, build basic gates, or install automatic gates, see my related links. You don’t necessarily have to match your gate to your fence.

1×8 to make a smooth curve (If you have more than one-panel width, make separate patterns.)  Cut the curve with a jigsaw and use it as a template for the upper 1×8 rails. Figure on about a gallon of high-quality latex stain for every 12 ft. of fence. One way to speed up the process is to use a roller with a 1/2-in.nap sleeve. Pour a couple of gallons of stain into a 5-gallon pail and hang a roller screen ($3) from the side of the pail to load the stain onto the roller. Lay out the boards on sawhorses and stack five or so boards side by side on edge to roll several edges at once, then flip them over and stain the other edge.

Stylish Designer Gates

If you choose double gates, it’s best to “fix” one side and leave a “people” side that opens for everyday pedestrian traffic. Plan on using a foot latch to anchor the fixed gate when it’s not needed. A standard double fence gate is commonly constructed to be around 8 to 10 feet wide. This width allows for easy access to driveways, pathways, or areas where larger vehicles like cars, trucks, or trailers need to pass through. It also provides sufficient space for maneuvering and avoids potential damage to the gate or surrounding structures. The gap between double fence gates depends on various factors, including the size of the gate opening, the type of fence, and its intended purpose.

Modern wood fence gate ideas

This makes it the best choice when the entry or exit road is at one corner of the property with limited space to sacrifice for the gated parking area. Unfortunately, since I build everything on site, I can not build and ship you a driveway gate, entry gate or garden gate. We offer a variety of top-quality fence and gates designs for residential, commercial, and industrial property needs.

This will give you the total amount of wood (in linear feet) required for the gate panels. Double gates not only provide convenience and accessibility but also enhance the aesthetic appeal of your fence. However, constructing a double gate requires careful planning and execution to ensure proper functionality and durability. Instead of installing it and making space for the fence, homeowners can get ready-made fence doors also.

Architects' Secrets: 10 Ideas to Create Privacy in the Garden

But in reality, it’s unlikely your gate will be the same dimensions. When you build your wooden gate(s), be sure you make your double gates about 1 in. Narrower (both gates together) than the opening (or a single gate about 3/4 in. smaller) to allow for opening clearances. Using a circular saw or miter saw, cut the wooden boards to the determined width and height for each gate panel. Ensure that all the boards are cut precisely and are of equal size.

Hang some blown glass ornaments or fit in some glass pieces into your metal design, for a gorgeous finish. This will make your fence gate look like something out of a book, in my opinion. Especially if the gate leading into your garden or house is, well…boring. Do you want to turn the fencing around your home into a masterpiece?

A solid gate provides more privacy and security, while a gate with openings allows better visibility and ventilation. Also, consider the hardware and accessories you will need, such as hinges, latches, and locks. Are you looking to add some privacy and security to your property? Building a double wooden gate is a great DIY project that can accomplish both of these goals.

Merge it with an arbor

This gate is suitable for heavy-duty functions and will provide long-life service with minimal maintenance. Sliding gates are a considerable choice when there is a lack of space to install a swing gate. Since they slide horizontally on the side, they use less common space. This is an ultra-modern gate design that lays focus mainly on security, safety, and maintenance-free operation.

You can also upcycle an old door and use it as your wooden gate door. The chipped paint and worn-out wood will give your fence a mellow vibe that is sure to fit in nicely with the greenery of your garden. To ensure the longevity of your double wooden gate, it is important to perform regular maintenance. Here are some tips to help you keep your gate in good condition. Next, attach the gate boards to the frame using screws and wood glue.

Painting or staining your gate is an important step to protect it from weather damage. Before you start painting or staining, make sure the wood is clean and dry. You can use a pressure washer or a mild soap and water solution to clean the wood. Consider your budget, desired aesthetic, and climate when selecting the type of wood for your gate.

Different types of gates might also be heavier or lighter, which would also affect the type of post you want. This is also why the first step here is to choose the type of gate – because that will affect the type of gate posts you need. To ensure the stability of your double gate, the kit includes a heavy-duty drop rod. Also known as a cane bolt or drop pin, this rod securely holds one gate to the ground, preventing it from swinging or sagging. The 5/8″ diameter and 24″ length of the drop rod provide sufficient strength and stability for most double gate setups.

Our products are made in the USA from only the best materials and designed to stand the test of time. The husband and wife team from @casa_colorful transformed plain wood posts into “pencils” by carving the ends and painting them. Big, bold, and heavy make anything noticeable right away. There’s something really minimalistic about this one that’d make me pick it over any other wooden gate. Make the artwork the main event and ditch traditional bulky gates, just like the enchanted doors at farmfoodfamily.com, a website all about home improvement and family life.

Wood is the material used with color preferred light brown. For turning an ordinary driveway into a shady, garden alcove, look no further than this affordable arbor door. Following the modified plans of the makers, by cutting pressure-treated wood planks for the arbor posts, headers, and arches. After planting the posts, filling in with gravel under that for drainage—attach the headers and arches with the help of deck screws. Finish by adjoining a short, fanciful wooden gate that repeats the curves in the arbor for an even more enchanting entry for guests.

Among this spring’s entrées are rib eye with creamed spinach, pork collar with fennel and bay leaves, and wood oven-roasted pheasant with vermouth, juniper, and sides (for two). Expect more of the same this summer, including “a bounty of summer produce, like tomatoes, corn and basil, as well as our desserts, like sundaes, seasonal jelly, and crumbles,” says de Boer. As Stissing House’s new presence in Pine Plains settles, look forward to community programs and group dinners, called “feasts,” in the former boarding room space upstairs. If it weren’t obvious enough that this place is a Date Night spot, there’s usually a sharable meat pie that rotates with the seasonal menu.

Stissing House is a restaurant in Pine Plains, currently characterized as a "country tavern".[1] Clare de Boer owns and operates Stissing House. Previously, a French restaurant, also called Stissing House, operated in the space occupied by de Boer's restaurant. With such a busy career in the city, Ms. de Boer had imagined a solo restaurant in the Hudson Valley more as a project for retirement. (She and her husband, Luke Sherwin, own a house in Dover Plains, about 20 miles away.) But when she heard that the French restaurant occupying the Pine Plains building — also named Stissing House — would close at the start of last year, she decided to look at the space.

A plate of simple brown bread and butter is the first thing you’ll get here. The bread itself is soft with an air of sourdough tang—save a few chunks for soaking up the various fatty sauces you’ll want to lap up from your plate like a barn cat. They’re very generous with the cloud-soft butter here, and it’s fun to watch servers scoop schmears of it from a butter mountain that looks like an abstract foam sculpture you’d see at MoMa. At Stissing House, you’ll walk by a mountain of butter under a glass cloche when you pass by the open kitchen. It functionally doesn’t really do much, but it’ll set the tone for the evening as you’re making your way through the 18th-century tavern in Pine Plains. The food at this American restaurant isn’t exactly breaking new ground, but details like the dozens of Ebenezer Scrooge-esque candlesticks on every flat surface and multiple fireplaces will make you slow down and remember that you’re not in the Big City anymore.

On a cold winter night we’ve had a rabbit and tarragon pot pie topped with flaky pastry, but we’ve also seen a brothy fish pie. The flaky pastry gets a nice dusting of tiny pyramids of salt, and it’s super satisfying to take the first thwack with your spoon against it before you split it with your emergency contact, or even just the bestie who’s outlasted your decade-long situationship. This is tavern food at its absolute best, and we wouldn’t be surprised if the broth just happened to be the cure for, well, anything.

Food Rundown

There are carefully chosen small plates, starters, and entrées. Start off with coal-roasted Belon or Fin de la Baie oysters, malt vinegar potato chips, and house made smoked ham and pickles. Share a salad, like an endive and pear with buttermilk dressing, frisée and lentil with a pheasant egg, or frilled spring greens with vinaigrette, and tear apart wood-fired bread with asparagus and goat’s curd.

It was built in 1782 to serve as a watering hole for the swinging country town of Pine Plains, New York. The building accommodated a tavern, beds for travelers, and America’s first domed ballroom. Please use and/or share my information with a Coldwell Banker agent to contact me about my real estate needs.

“It’s cute until you sign the dotted line,” she said on a recent Friday in the sitting room, formerly a wood shed, of her tavern in this Hudson Valley town. The walls of the 6,000-square-foot space were still being painted. A conventional oven hadn’t yet been installed, and the pastry chef, Suzanne Nelson, was getting worried. In the nineties, Christian Eisenbeiss acquired the property to save it from the wrecking ball. He enlisted partner Dale Mitchell, a master sawyer, and together they embarked on a two year renovation.

How to Create a Design Board the Easy Way!

design boards for interior design

Everything you need to know to create impressive interior design mood boards. If you’re not a blogger or designer and don’t necessarily need a detailed design plan graphic (like shown above), another option to take all your edited images and create a collage-style design board. You don’t need to maintain the room layout like you did when you were playing around with options up in Step 3. Instead, just drop your selected images onto a PowerPoint slide or other design surface, and adjust the spacing and sizing until everything fits and is pleasing to the eye. Again, add in any images and details that you find helpful to really bring your design to life and convey the overall feeling you want for the space. To find more inspiration for your interior design mood board, check out our next article where we dive into a plethora of mood board examples from a variety of creative mediums.

Digital vs Physical Moodboards… Which Comes First?

If you have trouble completing these steps on your own, I walk you through each of them with separate and easy-to-follow worksheets in the workbook portion of Designer in a Binder. You want to give thought to what you like/dislike about your room, how you want to use the space, how you want the space to feel (relaxing or energizing, etc.) and what your budget is first. Sometimes I use the photo as the main focal point, other times it’s there with a slight frame (just layered over a rectangle) to help it stand alone. Just like in a room, if the decor is falling flat, it’s usually the same things missing. Plants, natural textures, art and pattern can all help so much!

College of the Canyons

If you’re collecting images online, many digital mood board tools will enable you to save your images before you get to the curation part of the process by tagging them as “favorites” or something similar. Once you have this library of images, you’re in a much stronger position to select the right pieces for your curated mood board. Now that you’ve got a good understanding of how you’re going to curate your mood board, the fun can start! This step in the process involves gathering images, words, and phrases that communicate how you envision the space. Mood boards are important because they give a visual component to what an interior designer could be imagining for a space and provide a good starting point to organize all of your ideas.

What to Include in a DIY renovation Budget

This will look a little more like a collage of images or a collection of images instead of a mockup showing how your actual room might look. The one thing you’ll really want to do that the free version doesn’t support is removing backgrounds. I’ve shared this entire process in a video if that’s easier for you- I’ve included that down near the bottom of that post and here on YouTube. During the fall ‘22 ORC, Princess of Noire Motif tackled a gut renovation of her kids’ bathroom. Her goal was to create a bathroom that her kids would love, but that also felt mature enough to grow with them and eventually be used for guests once her kids have flown the coop. When it comes to interior paint, even your very favorite shade won’t live up to expectations without a well-executed paint job.

A moodboard is a collection of visual materials that evoke a certain style for a space. Interior designers use them to communicate which colors, materials, and furniture would suit a project. A mood board is a great device for visually communicating ideas between designers and their clients and/or teams. Amid a long design project, the mood board provides a perfect visual reference that all stakeholders can refer back to as a reminder of the original concept and themes. Unlike a written description of an idea, the mood board provides instant clarity of how the space should be evolving.

Start your moodboard

Send us measurements and photos of your space ahead of time. Add favorite items to your Wish List or cart to help us see your style. I used to do that, but I have trained my mind with a lot of work to think about the abstract first, and that is what my first design board will reflect. Every project I work on begins with finding the inspiration behind my design. Doing this not only challenges my mind, but it also forces me to be creative and that is where most of us get stuck.

Advantages of a Physical Mood Board

design boards for interior design

For me personally, I’ve learned that sometimes it’s difficult for me to communicate my vision for a space with description words alone. To find paint colors for your design board, you have a few options. If you know the paint colors you are considering because you already have swatches or have tested paint in your space, simply do a quick Google search for the paint color’s name. Ideally, try to save an image of the actual paint color (not a picture of the color already in a room) that is from the paint manufacturer’s website (e.g., Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, etc). Today I want to share with you one of the bases of good interior design so that you can make your own process significantly better and improve your ability to create beautiful interiors. To do this, I will be exploring the process of making design boards.

You can also add notes and other elements such as ribbons and buttons if you want to give your mood board for interior design some extra visual interest. Remember that the goal here is not only to represent the overall aesthetic but also to capture the feeling that you want your space/room/house to evoke when complete so make sure everything ties together well. This also means utilizing materials outside of the world of interior design such as photography, film, or paintings like we mentioned earlier. With all of your materials gathered in one place, you can start to zoom in on a particular style or aesthetic that speaks to you. If you’ve not done this already, a good rule of thumb is to separate the images you have into different style categories such as farmhouse, traditional, shabby chic, contemporary, minimalist, and so on. While some interior designers prefer to stick to just one style for a space, this is by no means the only way to go.

The Difference Between Concept Boards and Mood Boards in Interior Design

The furniture board is so much fun, in my opinion, because I love furniture. I think it's one of those items that complete a space and bring it alive. Also, it adds the functionality aspect to it, which is so important in interior design. One of the most difficult challenges for an architect or an interior designer is to be process-oriented.

You can use mood boards to get very clear about where you are headed with your room design before spending a lot of time and money. Sometimes you’ll be able to easily find images of these keepers online but oftentimes, they’re older or can’t be found exactly. Instead of spending time searching up the exact flooring you have, just take a photo of your floor and add that to your design first. I have done that in almost all of my design boards where I’m reusing furniture or flooring. They will help you get from your before to the after you’re dreaming of without too many mis-steps. While I think this is helpful for anyone completing a creative project, it’s particularly helpful to keep you on track during the design process if you’re a visual person.

That's why one of my top interior design tips is to take the time to create a design board for each space you work on in your home. Skipping this step is one of the biggest interior design mistakes I see. You can read about other design mistakes I see often in this post. It's particularly helpful for my husband because he has trouble visualizing any design idea without seeing all of the design elements everything together first. Some of my mood boards just have a few big items… flooring, cabinetry, hardware / plumbing finishes, paint, and that’s it. It totally depends on your project and what’s most helpful to see mapped out.

Menu for Andele's Dog House Mesilla, NM

andeles dog house

I especially liked the deep red chile flavor of that side. Tender slices of flame-broiled meat or breaded fish served on a sandwich roll baked especially for ¡Andele! Beef, pork or chicken served piled high with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, guacamole and mayonnaise. Fish torta served with tartar sauce and french fries only (additional condiments or garnish on request). Savory red chile, Mexican spices, diced pork and hominy. Served with lime wedges, chopped onion and your choice of bread, flour or corn tortillas.

They have a separate gluten-free menu so be sure to ask for it. I don’t think the queso is on the gluten-free menu, but the last time I was there, I asked about the ingredients and it turned out that I was able to eat it. Three eggs scrambled with bell peppers and sausage.

Mexican Food Details

None of the salsas were super spicy like the ones at some restaurants in the area. Three tacos, coleslaw and roasted corn and red bell pepper medley. Served with wedges of lime, chopped onion and cilantro.

Dogs allowed,

The Andele Restaurants provide all three and then some. Both restaurants feature beer and wine, a selection of delicious homemade salsas, and flavorful entrees that have become local traditions. It will be apparent to you why the Andele Restaurants are a favorite destination for locals and visitors.

Restaurant Description

(All You Can Eat, Saturday and Sunday only.) Served with lime wedges, chopped onion and your choice of bread, flour or corn tortilla. The Red Enchilada side of the stack had what tasted like a thickener in it that reminded me of the enchiladas in southeastern New Mexico (such as Roswell). However, I think they just used a small amount and the taste of the red chile was still there.

3 Stacked enchiladas served with beans and rice and your choice of coleslaw or lettuce and tomato. One tostada cup filled with charro beans and your choice of red or green chile con carne and topped with lettuce, tomato and cheese. With your choice of our ranchera, red or green sauce and cheese. Served with refried beans, rice and a flour tortilla. 1/2 Chicken (or 1/4 chicken with baked potato) served on a bed of lettuce with either corn or flour tortillas. Garnished with wedges of avocado and tomato.

We were driving, so didn’t check out the margaritas, but we will definitely come back here again sometime.

I did notice also an absence of seeds inside (another reason these are some of the best in town). Made with three eggs and served with home-style potatoes and choice of toast or flour tortilla. Topped with bacon, avocado, green chile, cheddar cheese and mushrooms. Grilled, bacon-wrapped all beef frank, topped with pinto beans, onions, cheddar cheese and Andele’s famous chile con queso. The Green Enchilada, on the other hand, was one of my favorite items here. It was spicy like the red side, and went well with their unique enchiladas with the melted cheese.

A bed of iceberg and romaine lettuce topped with grilled chicken, tomato wedges, avocado and radishes. Topped with mushrooms, green chile, grilled onions, mozzarella cheese and chile con queso. First of all, it is an outdoor restaurant with walls and a roof, but also plenty of open wall space to allow outside air in. Secondly, it has a self-serve salsa and chips bar with 5 types of salsa. Wife got fish tacos, and I got 1/2 chicken, and we shared. Also on the “Mexican” side of the menu is the Mexican Hot Dog which is loaded with condiments including a pickle and pinto beans, wrapped with bacon, and has a smoky flavor.

Other features here include a drive-through window and a dog friendly outdoor patio. The patio is actually the bulk of the restaurant, with only a few tables located in the indoor portion of the restaurant (Andele Restaurant is quite large and all of its seating is indoors). With the scant number of days that rain or cold is an issue in the Las Cruces area, the patio is almost always well used. I happened to go on a day that passes for cold here, and the fire pot in the middle of the patio made it quite comfortable. I probably would not want to sit here if the temperature were at or below freezing. Are you all about that kicked-back patio lifestyle?

Served with frijoles charros (a spicy bean soup) and garnished with your choice of Mexican coleslaw or lettuce and tomato. Served with corn tortillas and your choice of beans and rice or baked potato or french fries. Garnished with wedges of avocado, lettuce and tomato. Lean cuts of marinated beef, pork or chicken, flame-broiled on a vertical spit by an open wood fire. Served with frijoles charros, wedges of lime, grilled onion, cilantro and your choice of Mexican coleslaw or lettuce and tomato.

Breaded fish filet served with coleslaw, roasted corn & red pepper medley and french fries. Three eggs scrambled with chopped jalapeños, onions and tomatoes. This Chile Relleno had an excellent non-greasy batter and was served with no sauce on top (although you can get sauce at an extra cost). I like these rellenos very much, but they were just not as spicy as they could be.

A generous scoop of guacamole served on a bed of lettuce. Click to add your description here. The one thing I cannot rate is how filling a dinner would be. I tried three meals here but they were shared, so I know the taste of them but not whether I would rate them as being very filling. We stopped here on our drive from Phoenix to Austin for lunch. The fish tacos were excellent as was the chili relleno.

This is unlike any hot dog you’ve ever had. 2 Cups of chile con carne (red or green) with frijoles charros topped with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. 1 Rolled enchilada (red or green); 1 flauta (beef or chicken); chile con carne (red or green); and your choice of either 1 tamale or 1 relleno. Three eggs, scrambled with jalapeños, onion and tomatoes.

Topped with refried beans, cheese, lettuce, tomato, guacamole, sour cream, and choice of beef, pork or chicken. Two scrambled eggs, cheese, green chile and your choice of bacon, sausage or ham, folded into a flour tortilla. Served with a side of ranchera sauce. Savory red chile broth, Mexican spices, diced pork and hominy.

However, the melted cheese here is very unique and I did like the chile flavor, so the enchiladas are now on my rotation if I can come to Las Cruces often enough to try different restaurants. I do think the green ones are better though (they either have no cumin or very little so that I did not really taste it in the green chile). Two scrambled eggs with your choice of bacon, ham, sausage or chorizo, wrapped in a freshly made flour tortilla from the Andele Tortilleria. Choose from Traditional or “A La Mexicana” style with jalapeños, tomatoes and onions.

A classic sandwich with an Andele twist! Thin slices of mouth-watering beef, piled high on a fresh bakery roll and topped with Muenster cheese and generous amounts of green chile, sautéed onions, red and green bell peppers. Includes a side of fried-to-order potato chips. Well, it’s not a chihuahua standing in the sun!

Visit Andele’s Dog House located just across the street from Andele Restaurant. Relax inside or on a large, shaded, enclosed patio with fountains, a fireplace and greenery. Choose a frosty cold beer from a wide selection of brews on draft or by the bottle. You’ll enjoy your Andele menu favorites and signature salsas plus exclusive Dog House menu options like Mexican hot dogs, specialty burgers, and unique appetizers.

Additional Information

Iceberg and romaine lettuce, cabbage, carrots, radishes, tomato wedges and cheese. A delicious all-beef frank, served in a bakery-fresh bun and topped with your choice of traditional hot dog condiments. Served with coleslaw, roasted corn & red pepper medley. Topped with refried beans and cheese. Good number of items on their gluten free menu. Chips and all salsas are gluten free, too.

The big flaw in the red sauce, though, was that it tasted like it had cumin (and not just a small amount). I know this is a personal taste, but I prefer restaurants such as Nopalito who do not have a cumin taste. The Dog House has the same menu as Andele except that it has added several Mexican style hot dogs.

Served with home-style potatoes and two fluffy pancakes. The tacos al carbon I had at Andele (the main restaurant) were as good as the ones I have had in El Paso. Two buttermilk biscuits smothered with sausage gravy.

Dogs allowed,

Served with lime wedges, chopped onion, and your choice of bread, flour or corn tortilla. A bowl of frijoles charros and green chile (beef, potatoes and chile) served with your choice of corn or flour tortilla, or bread. A bowl of frijoles charros and red chile (pork, potatoes and chile) served with your choice of corn or flour tortilla, or bread. 3 Rolled tacos topped with cheese and served with guacamole, sour cream, beans and rice and your choice of coleslaw or lettuce and tomato. On an earlier review of Andele I had given the red and green enchiladas four stars, and I do think they are better at some other restaurants (such as Nopalito).

Simply answered, it is improvised cooking in a folded tortilla. Our style is from the west central region of Mexico. White corn tortillas topped with flame-broiled beef, pork or chicken with grilled onion, wedges of lime, cilantro and a choice of salsas on the side. Try one with grilled onion and green salsa with a squeeze of lime, another with red salsa and cilantro.

andeles dog house

The two Andele restaurants have salsa bars where you fill a bucket with as many chips as you want and fill cups with as many of the salsa varieties as you wish. I got most of the varieties they had but passed on some of them. The chips were as good as anywhere around this area, so I ended up eating most of the bucket I had filled. On the salsa I thought their “regular” salsa was the best, while the others gave an interesting variety that you do not get at most restaurants.

As the name suggests, Andele’s Dog House is dog-friendly! All well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome on the patio. Two flautas, your choice of beef or chicken, served with beans, rice, sour cream and guacamole. A bed of lettuce topped with grilled chicken, tomato wedges, avocado and radishes. Served with home-style potatoes, refried beans and a flour tortilla. Made with three eggs and served with home-style potatoes and choice of toast, corn or flour tortilla.

The hot dogs are part of the “Mexican” part of the menu (and are not available across the street in the big restaurant, but everything else on the menu is the same at both places). On a previous visit to the regular Andele Restaurant I had what I believed to be its specialty–tacos al carbon. The other part of the menu, though, is New Mexican cuisine including local style enchiladas and chile rellenos. Tender slices of flame-broiled pork, beef or chicken on a sandwich roll baked especially for Andele. Piled high with lettuce, tomato, onion and cheese. 1 Rolled enchilada (green), 1 chile relleno, 1 beef flauta, green chile con carne with potatoes, beans and rice.
